BROKERAGE AND ESTATE LIQUIDATION
PRIVATE ART OR ANTIQUES BROKERAGE
It is not unusual to find nice things which are of above average quality in the estate of a parent or an elderly friend. At the same time, it is often the case that the residential contents in question are not of such a high level of rarity that they merit being sold by sending it to a major auction house which is seeking items of greater value and rarity, and which involves the complications of packing, shipping and handling, with no guarantee everything will sell. Consigning single items worth 6 figure values to world class auction houses in major cities is quite logical. And LFAS is available to facilitate this process for the uninitiated client who might have art and antiques of this caliber which they have decided to sell if needed by approaching the auction houses in New York City on the client’s behalf, using his contacts in the exclusive world of the New York City auction houses to ensure the process is made easier for all parties and supervising much of the details such as transportation of the items as well as assisting in other phases of the sale process on the client’s behalf. However, the prevailing reality is that most of our clients do not live in museums and most residential contents can be effectively liquidated by an experienced professional with the right access to serious informed buyers.
It’s understandable that generations of accumulated family myths lead sentimentally attached beneficiaries to be led to believe items belonging to loved elderly family members are of more rarity than reality reveals after being examined by a detached professional who looks at the object from a more informed and objective perspective. As a result, what most households do have is a nice variety assorted furniture, art and other contents, ranging in resale value from a few hundred to several thousand dollars and sometimes even in the 5-figure category on rarely encountered happy occasions. Sending items of such a category to a world class auction house that doesn’t need or want such offerings. To send such inventory out of town often also entails added expense for shipping, insurance and the risk that they might not sell at auction and must be returned to the consignor at additional cost.
Consequently, in this instance, a private art or antiques broker or a locally based full-service estate liquidator is better suited for an effective disposal of such distinctive single items or entire collections. For such an objective, LFAS is among the most experienced and well-suited brokers and estate sale administrators in Florida. LFAS is experienced in attentively selling the furniture and other personal property of a nice residence with art, antique and upscale designer furniture, superior decorative items and other related fine residential contents that could potentially even include such offerings as vintage fashion items, and stylish old garden furniture and ornaments.

PRIVATELY BROKERED LIQUIDATIONS FOR ESTATES OR INDIVIDUALS WANTING TO DOWNSIZE
Juan P. Lluria has over 30 years of experience in the effective organized liquidation of small and large estates of distinction based in the South Florida area since 1985 when he liquidated the contents of a historic Merrick Era Coral Gables “Old Spanish” residence on Alberca Street in 1985. Since then, he has refined the methodical liquidation of residential contents into a very personal and detail-oriented strategy that is aimed to clients seeking a special level of service, with which Mr. Lluria and his company LFAS has long been associated. Personal attention to the details, satisfactory net revenues for the client, careful preparation, as time allows, to display the collections and create an enticing atmosphere for the sale of the offerings with which LFAS is entrusted, the care taken to ensure revenues are responsibly handled and supervision of post-sale “broom sweeping” the premises of the houses if required and agreed upon.
LFAS liquidations are administered by offering the inventory with which it is entrusted to its enviable local and national network of superior focused knowledgeable professionals in the art and antiques trade. Please note that, LFAS works for a superior category of client who do not seek or want the common tag sale offered to the public and who prefer not to have the public on their property. Sometimes, a public sale simply isn’t feasible because the inventory is located in a very exclusive high-rise condominium with endless restrictions concerning who may or may not enter and who often prohibit public tag sales altogether. For many years now, LFAS no longer administers this kind of sale. S FL has other tag sale administrators which are perhaps more appropriate and better suited to another category of client, and LFAS is happy to even make recommendations if possible. LFAS clients are distinguished by the better than usual, stylish and desirable inventory that would not perhaps be advisable to expose to anyone coming in off the street and who also prefer to avoid the potential disruption and liabilities a public sale engenders, and who want the liquidation to be carried out in a timely manner with professionalism and discretion.
For any initial consultation comprising a “walk through” in which Mr. Lluria will offer his experience and opinions about the quality and marketability of any residential contents is starting $500.00 flat fee in the Gables, Grove, South Miami, Miami Beach and Key Biscayne. For client consultations in other more distant areas, a slightly higher fee will apply. If the situation requires Mr. Lluria to come accompanied by a specialist in certain areas, and whose expertise is required, their fees also apply.
For the administration of a liquidation sale, LFAS charges a commission of 25% of the gross sale revenues – plus reimbursement for any administrative costs that sometimes are involved in certain large or more demanding projects.
